Having only shared updating information just on 5 weeks ago, the region now trembles in fear as the prospect of a failed main rainy season looms. Normally, the main rains begin early to mid- July. Now with the unremitting, each day brings communities into tragedy.

The Afar Forum conference took place between September 2 – September 4, 2016. This year’s conference theme was: “Managing vulnerability to recurrent drought and building a resilient community: The case of Afar people in the Horn of Africa.”
